We received confirmation that Laurynn has passed the reading TAKS test! This important test is required to promote to the 4th grade. We are so proud of her! When I told her she passed, she was overwhelmed and cried with relief. It's a shame there is so much pressure on school-age children. They shouldn't have to be subjected to stress at a young age. Goodness knows, there's day to day stress as an adult, let kids enjoy their childhood while they have it! Way to go Laurynn!
The next big TAKS test will be Math on April 28th...

Spring Break is over, back to reality!
Laurynn, Matthew and I spent spring break week in Dallas visiting Grammy & Popo. Laurynn stayed very busy...lets see...She went ice skating, saw 30 minutes of Race to Witch Mountain (scary parts prevented her from seeing the entirety); the Dallas Zoo; Flight museum; shopping at Nordstroms. During her visit in Dallas, she was determined to stay up till 1 a.m. to see "Tom & Jerry" cartoon. She managed to last till 1 a.m., but decided she needed to go to sleep. On Thursday, she also divulged herself in eating too much dark chocolate and felt too sick to join Grammy & I at Tupinambas Mexican Restaurant. You know Laurynn feels sick when she turns down mexican food!
I saw my good friend, Debbie Hein, and we had dinner and saw Race to Witch Mountain. It was great to get out by myself for awhile.
We came home on Friday and had the rest of the weekend to unwind and get ready for the upcoming week. Back to school for Laurynn!

A walk in the neighborhood

Today was a beautiful day that we all went for a walk in the neighborhood...Well, John & I walked (Matthew in the stroller) while Laurynn rode her bike. John walked Max and he was pulling a lot in the beginning but after the "newness" wore off, he walked better. Laurynn would ride her bike on the trail around the lake. She really loves her bike and rides it at any opportunity. Matthew did great in the stroller and didn't mind the bright sun.

Our anniversary

March 10th is our wedding anniversary...2nd year...seems longer than two years...maybe because a lot has happened in the past two years...
John was a sweetheart and surprised me with red roses and a box of chocolates...We were able to slip away from the children and have a great meal at Pappasito's by ourselves. Thank you Devon for babysitting!
John, thank you for being such a wonderful husband and father! You're the love of my life and so thankful you entered my life. I look forward to the next 40 years of marriage bliss!
